Mississippi state university (msu) is based in starkville, oktibbeha county, mississippi. It was established in 1878 as an agricultural and mechanical college of the state of mississippi. It aimed to provide training in “agriculture, horticulture and the mechanical arts without excluding other scientific and classical studies, including military tactics. This land-grant college was created and funded by grants of federally controlled lands that were given to each state. After advancing in the research facilities and study, the name was changed to mississippi state college in 1932, and then to mississippi state university in 1958.

Currently, msu is comprised of nine colleges including msu’s college of forest resources, which prepares learners for careers in forestry and sustainability. Candidates must be full-time students at msu enrolled in the international business program. Students must be freshman through senior level students. Have demonstrated academic achievement, a minimum of 3.0 gpa based on a 4.0 system.

Candidates must be full-time students in undergraduate or graduate in the college of arts and sciences at mississippi state university. Candidates must have a demonstrated record of academic excellence, as indicated by a 3.5 or higher cumulative gpa (on a 4.0 scale). Preference will be given to students majoring in the natural and physical sciences and mathematics.
