CQUniversity offers over 300 courses in vocational education and training, undergraduate and postgraduate studies including in subjects such as accounting, allied health, arts, business, engineering, and nursing, to name a few.

What’s new
Study options during COVID-19
CQUniversity is committed to making international education accessible even when Australia remains closed with travel restrictions. There are ways international students can study with the university:

Students may commence their course online first, and transition to studying on campus after entry to Australia is open.
Students can choose to study courses entirely online without opting to travel to Australia.
CQUniversity has experience in online education and students can opt for online study with 100 per cent confidence. The university is home to a constantly evolving learning environment that is technology driven and focused on delivering a responsive and fast study experience. 2020 bursary offer for future students
The university offers the Early Bird concession as a form of financial aid for its international students who accept term two (July) and term three (November) offers within cut-off dates and meet all required conditions. This is a concession that offers a reduction of AUD 1,000 from the first term fee. To take advantage of this opportunity, students must apply to study at CQUniversity now. The cut-off dates are:12th June for term two and 9th October for term three.

New Master of Construction Management
CQUniversity’s Master of Construction Management helps prepare students to meet the challenges of the building industry, and teaches them the principles of project management involved in different phases of the construction cycle, including cost, time frames, safety, quality and sustainability. This new course will be on offer for students in term one, 2021.

Teaching quality
The 2019 QS Stars rated CQUniversity five stars for its teaching, reflecting its innovative teaching approaches and the high calibre of its teaching staff. Many of its teachers are also active researchers and they continue to innovate and incorporate their research into teaching in classrooms, across the wider university and beyond. CQUniversity has a Learning and Teaching Framework to support quality teaching and learning. There is a Learning and Teaching Services (LTS) network available to staff that provides resources to ensure that staff are up-to-date in their information and training.

Study options
CQUniversity is divided into a number of schools, all delivering a broad spectrum of courses in their respective fields, from vocational qualifications through to research higher degrees.

School of Business and Law: Its courses have been designed to prepare graduates to be job ready as exemplified in the provision of internship in the Bachelor of Accounting, Master of Professional Accounting, Bachelor of Business, Master of Business Management, Master of Human Resource Management, Master of Management for Engineers and the Master of Project Management.

School of Education and the Arts: Many courses offer work experience and are tailored for work integrated learning. Teachers work closely with the industry and are experts in their fields.

School of Engineering and Technology: The school is a rapidly growing one with a current student cohort of 5000. It has a major focus on research and provides real-world skills with internship embedded in both the bachelor and master of IT, Master of IT, Master of Information Systems and Master of Engineering.

School of Health, Medical and Applied Sciences: The school offers career-oriented courses, taught and delivered in world-class facilities that include health clinics, science laboratories, exercise suites and agricultural field sites which all add essential practical experience.

School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Sciences: The school is a leader in the Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Social Work courses. Students gain the added benefit of cultural experiences from travel to Nepal, India and Cambodia through the Short-Term Mobility Programme.

School of Graduate Research: The school operates on the model that research changes lives. It enjoys strong collaboration and engagement with local communities and it focuses its applied research on meeting industry and community needs.

Entry requirements
Entry requirements vary depending on the course. To apply for entry to CQUniversity courses, applicants must satisfy academic requirements and English language requirements.

Academic requirements
Certificates: Successful completion of Australian Year 10 or equivalent.
Diplomas: Successful completion of Australian Year 12 or equivalent, or completion of Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Certificate IV or equivalent.
Undergraduate courses: Successful completion of the equivalent of Australian Year 12. An approved university foundation studies or formal Australian Certificate IV is acceptable. Successful completion of a certificate, diploma or advanced diploma (or equivalent) for advanced standing to desired course.
Postgraduate courses: Completion of a bachelor’s degree with the equivalent to an Australian pass grade average in the final two terms, from a recognised higher education institution.
Postgraduate research: Applicants must provide supporting documents and apply via iStart with an Expression of Interest.
Country specific requirements apply for certificates and diplomas, and undergraduate courses.
English Language requirements
English tests: CQUniversity Australia recognises a number of English tests which can be taken to meet English language requirements. The following are IELTS and TOEFL scores, which are required for most courses.

IELTS
Certificate or Diploma – 5.5 (with no individual band score of less than 5.0)
Undergraduate or Postgraduate coursework – 6.0 (with no individual band score of less than 5.5)
Postgraduate research – 6.5 (with no individual band score less than 6.0)

TOEFL
Certificate or Diploma – Overall score of 65 with no score less than 15
Undergraduate or postgraduate coursework – Overall score of 75 with no score less than 17
Postgraduate coursework – Overall score of 79 with no score less than 21

Student Accommodation
CQUniversity Australia’s Capricornia College Rockhampton and Canefield College Mackay offer affordable accommodation with friendly, helpful staff to help students transition into university life.

Students living on campus enjoy the college community environment with supported learning and opportunities to take part in cultural and social events and explore the nearby scenic surroundings. They also have access to safe, secure and affordable living.

Scholarships & funding
CQUniversity offers generous scholarships as a form of financial aid to help students reach their potential and build on their career aspirations. Every year, the university provides approximately AUD 24 million in scholarships to support international students and has access to scholarships funded by the Australian government as well as other external organisations.

Value
From Term 2 (July 2020) onwards, the value will increase from 20% to 25% of tuition fee
